It’s already been exactly five years since you’ve been gone. How can it be that I haven’t seen you or talked to you in five years? I would have never imagined that I would have to get married without you; you always fretted about what you would wear to my future wedding. You always wanted to see what my friends’ parents wore to their daughter’s wedding so that you would know the trend or what would it appropriate for when it was my turn. But, in the past five years, I got married and had my own cancer scare. I still have a hard time accepting that you’re no longer alive, because I can almost hear your voice when I see you in pictures. I can almost hear your mannerisms, your laugh, your scolding, it’s like a phantom. I don’t know why I want to write about you to the world, but I wish you got to see more of it before you died.
